The Welsh fuzzy-indie-popsters do that thing that separates the good from the great: sneaking disarmingly emotional lyrics in on the back of deceptively upbeat and jangly Trojan Horse instrumentals.
With each repeated spin, their choruses embed themselves deeper into your noggin whilst the heartfelt subject matter hits you harder in the solar plexus. If you were on board for their debut (or any of their members’ previous incarnations as Joanna Gruesome and Ex-Vöid), you’ll have an inkling of the treat that’s instore. Just know that they’ve amped up all of their best bits, producing a sucker-punch of guitar-fuelled indie-rock poetics.
