Welsh indie‑pop favourites The Sweetest Ache return this November with Reframed, their first new

LP in more than three decades. Formed in Swansea in 1989, the band became one of Sarah Records’ most distinctive voices, celebrated for shimmering guitars, emotional clarity, and a melodic sensibility that helped define the label’s legacy. Their early singles If I Could Shine, Tell Me How It Feels and Everlasting, along with their debut album Jaguar remain essential documents of the era. The decades that followed their original releases have been well‑covered elsewhere.

What matters now is that although the music paused, the friendships endured. Across 32 years, the band lived life, raised families, and stayed connected through reunions and shared musical pilgrimages. Those quiet, steady bonds form the emotional foundation of Reframed — strengthened further by the addition of lifelong friend Dave Jones on bass, who joins original vocalist Simon Court, and guitarists Peter Stone and Stuart Vincent, bringing another layer of history and warmth to the group’s renewed sound.
