There’s been a long-standing fraternal relationship between elements of the Glasgow and Tokyo music scenes and Two Sunsets is undoubtedly one of its most lush fruits. Between Illumination and this full-length the Pastels were busy setting up their own label (Geographic, which this album was released on) and writing music for film and theatre while Tenniscoats were being extremely productive while honing their affecting craft. As a marriage, Two Sunsets is a balanced statement replete with a sun-lapped atmosphere and beautiful playing throughout. Some of the haziest the psychedelic pop you’ll ever hear, an optimistic, summery sound and always a joy.
