Terry Callier - Live at The Earl of Old Town Terry Callier
Recorded by Chicago promoter Joe Segal in October 1967, this is a previously undiscovered live solo performance by singer-songwriter and composer Terry Callier (1945-2012), an inspirational and truly cherished figure whose unique style drew from jazz, folk, blues and soul. It’s also an important historical document of what the early Callier sounded like live. His amazing debut album for the jazz label Prestige, The New Folk Sound of Terry Callier, was recorded in a Chicago studio in 1964, but not released until after this performance, in 1968.
