Tara Clerkin & Memotone - For Clarinets Tara Clerkin & Memotone
Following a spellbinding collaborative performance at Bristol’s Arnolfini in 2024 (weaving a beautifully textured yarn over Rinko Kawauchi’s visuals) Bliss Archive were honoured to invite both artists to come together for a day of live improvisation and exploration.
2026 has already been bountiful for both artists, with Tara Clerkin Trio’s Somewhere Good and Will ‘memotone’ Yates’ Warm Shadows already gracing our ears.
This collaboration, for which our players were armed with only their clarinets and a handful of pedals, reveals a more immediate and intimate, responsive and raw, tender and searching, unchecked and mesmeric side to them both.
Recorded on 2nd June 2025 at Brunel Studios, engineer Luke ‘Typesun’ Harney set the room up masterfully to get the best out the instruments, the players, and the limited time available.
