Mar-Vista - Visions Of Sodal Ye Mar-Vista
Mar-Vista's Visions of Sodal Ye is a legendary French underground rarity. Self-released in 1977 in an edition of just 150 copies, its blend of kosmische electronics, acid folk and experimental music has made it a prized find for fans of Klaus Schulze, Terry Riley, Neu!, Heldon and Silver Apples.
Formed in Lille by Claude Cuvelier and Jean Skowron, the duo built the album using early synthesizers, organs, tape machines and drum machines. Jean's compositions lean towards progressive electronics, while Claude's side ends with a hypnotic 22-minute minimalist piece inspired by Terry Riley and La Monte Young.
This reissue adds a second disc of previously unreleased recordings, including improvised outdoor performances from 1973 and the long-lost 1975 demos 'Expedition' and 'Crash73', offering a deeper look at the group's singular vision
