Nuanced with the help of members of Elbow, Voice Of The Seven Woods and Andy Votel, it emanates from a baroque pop netherworld, soundtracked by songs of regret, pinpricked by evocative melodies and sumptuous harmonies, and peppered with plaintive swathes of cello and a suitably meandering piano that lurks behind Jane’s minor chords.
