A selection of Ennio Morricone's classics are collected on this new compilation named after the Pedro Almodovar film of the same name, on which the titanic soundtrack artist worked hard to develop hitherto unheard motifs for piano and orchestra. Issued on heavyweight black vinyl, only the very best sound is afforded to many of Morricone's deeper cuts here, including further theme tunes from spectacular classics such as Making Love (2000), Disobedience (1981) and Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down (1989). Featuring swelling strings, ominous oboes, pernickety pianos and vitreous vocals from Morricone's longtime soprano collaborator Edda Dell'Orso, there's something here for every admirer of the songster's ingenious craft.
