Château de lait is a collaborative project from Colin 'Spicey' Stewart (Gummy Stumps, Flo & Spicey), Jérôme Buchaca (La Station Radar) & Benoit Hecquet (DJ Ear Wax). Home recorded in Glasgow and Marseille between 2018 and 2022. Originally released on a short run of cassettes and CDs by La Station Radar 2024.

The members of Chateau de lait first met at the 13th Note on King Street in 1999. Jerome & Benoit began working there, having moved to Scotland from France, and Colin was the resident jack of all trades; regular, handyman, de facto host.
Despite an initial language barrier, caused as much by Colin’s broad Glaswegian accent as Jerome and Benoit’s inexperience with English, the 3 bonded over music, swapping records and DJing together under the name Radar Station (A Captain Beefheart reference that Jerome and his partner Fleur would later adopt for their record label La Station Radar).
In 2018 Jerome & Benoit began sketching out ideas on synth and guitar at home in Marseille. They would then send the files to Colin who would add parts at his flat in Glasgow before returning them. With no deadline, enjoying the creative partnership and content to around work each others schedules, the songs developed organically over the next few years. This relaxed approach eventually led to a truly unique album, equal parts social commentary and escapism, shaped by shared influences and shared experiences
