CDBGPD325 George Clinton
Released in 1982, “Computer Games” was George Clinton’s first solo LP. Released after a period of legal wrangles, it put him back on the map, spawning two hit singles – ‘Loopzilla’ and ‘Atomic Dog’. The album also climbed to #3 on Billboard’s R&B chart and peaked at #40 on the Billboard 200.
Although Funkadelic and Parliament had disbanded, the album featured many of the P-Funk crew, including Bootsy Collins, Eddie Hazel, Junie Morrison, Fred Wesley, Dennis Chambers, Garry Shider and Bernie Worrell.
Clinton’s fascination with computer games and love of dogs informed the album, which was a non-stop banger from start to finish. “Computer Games” featured ‘Atomic Dog’ and the full extended version of ‘Man’s Best Friend/Loopzilla’, as well as ‘Pot Sharing Tots’, ‘One Fun At A Time’ and ‘Get Dressed’ and ‘Free Alterations’ which were paired as the third single from the album.
