Baxter has cleaned up his act. He’s gone green, he’s washed his mouth out and has decided to stay infor the night... Like fuck he has.

When he’s not effing, he’s jeffing and, if anything, he’s flung himself deeper down the rabbit hole, chasing after those white tails as they disappear into dark tunnels. He’s paired his acerbic pen with lavish electronic instrumentals made from great, glistening synths and beats with more bumps than a centenarian’s birthday party. Baxter is telling tales on the best and worst of us: on hipsters, on gangsters, on endless nights out, on narcissists, on mispronounced chain bars, on himself. And he does it all with that trademark deadpan delivery that we just cannot get enough of.

Whether he’s embodying the first emperor of the Mongol empire or taking pleasure in the suffering of others, he’s railing
against his own neuroses and predilections and doing it all to a buzzy, new electronic palette. And he’s found his perfect foil in Lambeth’s JGrrey whose snarky vocals exaggerate, echo, and underline the pot shots Dury fires out over the course of Allbarone’s 35 minute runtime.
