Almost Here Unbelievable Truth

The recently reunited Oxford trio’s debut was originally released in May 1998 on Virgin and reached No 21 on the UK album chart, drawing comparisons with Talk Talk and Crowded House, while singles ‘Higher Than Reason’, and ‘Solved’ reached the UK Top 40.

Vocalist and guitarist Andy Yorke, bassist Jason Moulster and drummer Nigel Powell formed the band in 1993 but split a couple of years later, at which Yorke – younger brother of Radiohead’s Thom – took off to Russia to work as an interpreter. On his return, the band reformed and signed to Virgin. They recorded Almost Here in Great Linford Manor in Buckinghamshire, with Powell producing and Jeremy Wheatley co-producing and engineering.
