Allen Ravenstine - On The Mountain [RSD Black Friday 2026] Allen Ravenstine

This product is an RSD Black Friday 2026 title, which is available to buy in-store from 8am on Friday 27/11/2026, and online from 8am on Saturday 28/11/2026.

On the Mountain is a new collaborative recording from Allen Ravenstine, legendary synthesizer pioneer and founding member of Pere Ubu. Marking one of his final collaborations with longtime bandmate David Thomas, the release grew out of Ravenstine’s return to music after decades away following his departure from the band in 1988.

Built from atmospheric synthesizer compositions sent between Ravenstine and Thomas across continents, the title track features one of Thomas’ final recorded vocal performances. Expanded across two versions, the release also includes contributions from Mike Watt, guitarist William Blakeney, and fellow Pere Ubu member Robert Wheeler. The B-side also features a new interpretation of “The World According to Nouns,” originally written by Watt for Minutemen.

Minimal, haunting, and deeply personal, On the Mountain stands as a fitting late-career statement from two of experimental rock’s most singular voices.
