Second City Static is a collaborative project between two Glasgow based DIY labels; Errol's Hot Wax & Watts Of Goodwill (Dep Downie, co-owner of Monorail Music). The loose plan is an irregular series of not-for-profit live shows at The Old Hairdresser's (Renfield Lane, Glasgow) showcasing two artists, with a split 7” single w/ download card included in the price of the ticket.

Second City Static 005 features both The Yummy Fur and Buffet Lunch. The Yummy Fur’s track ‘New T-Shirt’ is the bands’ first newly recorded release since 1998. The flip-side, 'Compleat Works', is a non-album track from Buffet Lunch, specifically selected by the band for this release.

THE YUMMY FUR were a wild and weird mix of angular riffs, super short songs and savage vitriol / sardonic social commentary. Singer / guitarist, John McKeown, fronted the band from their 1992 inception (scores of cartoon melodies under a minute long delivered at high velocity) until their demise in 1999 (after morphing into a more muscular beast armed with eerie Eno-esque synths and longer, more hypnotic grooves).

Following the release of the compilation album Piggy Wings (Rock Action) in 2019, the band began playing live again with a current line-up of John, Brian MacDougall, Paul Thomson and Logan Gibson. Recent performances have featured new material, prompting hope that they may add a new LP to an already stellar back catalogue.

Edinburgh's BUFFET LUNCH have been plying their trade of daft, rattley and sincere pop music since 2017 and have released 3 EP's & 3 LP's to date. BL are keen on making music with others - a long list of artists which includes Me Lost Me, Lerryn, Jack Lee (Beef Jerk), Iain McCall (Lylo) and Joe Howe (Banana Oil).
