The Cat Returns – Original Soundtrack presents Yuji Nomi’s whimsical and richly orchestrated score for Studio Ghibli’s fantastical adventure film. Blending European classical influences, playful character themes, and lighthearted waltzes, the music perfectly reflects the film’s surreal journey between the human world and the Kingdom of Cats.
The soundtrack follows Haru’s transformation from an ordinary schoolgirl into an unlikely heroine, moving from gentle, introspective pieces to exuberant parade music and eccentric character motifs. Highlights include the stately themes for the Cat King, the elegant presence of Baron Humbert von Gikkingen, and lively cues such as Haru’s Boogie-Woogie. The set also includes the film’s theme song Become the Wind, performed by Ayano Tsuji, along with five bonus tracks.
