The album could be defined as an early \u003cbr\u003eexample of progressive death metal, though also included influences from other \u003cbr\u003egenres, further distinguishing them from other traditional death metal acts of the time, \u003cbr\u003ewho were often focused solely on brutality. The lyrics were also more politically \u0026amp; \u003cbr\u003esocially themed, relating more heavily towards the downfall of the planet \u0026amp; mankind. \u003cbr\u003eThe album was recorded at the infamous Sunlight Studio in Stockholm (Entombed, \u003cbr\u003eKatatonia, Amorphis), with producer Tomas Skogsberg.
