Orange Juice’s eponymous third album – the titling is a nod to the Velvet Underground – embraced the production of dub master Dennis Bovell but also the sparkling pop sound of the time. It really works: the marriage of some lovely deep bass rumbles and some of Collins’ most sophisticated songwriting is a treasure.
