Black Vinyl
Sweatertongue is the lone Buick LP, predating the sound of instrumental bands like Explosions in the Sky and Pelican by a good decade—but it belongs right up there with their fellow noisy neighbors in the…loudness pantheon….this majestic record was well worth the wait.” —Ron Hart, SPIN
Buick were a (pre)Post-Rock band active between 1990 – 1993 in Northern California. Members included Scott Lawrimore (guitar) and Jeff Clark (drums), with contributions by Sean Crowe (cello on track 2, bass on track 7), Kim Anderson (vocals on track 2), and Kathryn Zwack (vocals on track 2).
Originally released on compact disc in 1992 by Lather Records. Recorded and engineered July 1992 by Darrin Keatley at Enharmonik, Sacramento.
Remixed and mastered by John McEntire at Soma Studios, Gladstone, Oregon in 2020 from the original 16-track, half-inch analog tapes. 180g vinyl pressed at Third Man, Detroit.
