‘Red Brocade’ is the tenth solo album by Nikki Sudden, formerly of Swell Maps, and was originally released in 1999. The album sees Sudden backed by American band The Chamber Strings along with members of The Jacobites and Wilco. The songs range from the uptempo strums of ‘Scent’ to the shambling ballad ‘Broken Door’ to new wave rocker ‘Tie Me Up’. Elements of The Rolling Stones and Americana poke through all over the place.
