‘Dance Ancestral’ is the latest addition to the prolificartist John Carroll Kirby’s fast-growing and distinctivebody of work.

Kirby debuted on Stones Throw in 2020 with ‘My Garden’, an album influenced by jazz, New Age andearly music, which he synthesised into his unique andinstantly recognisable sound signature. Since then,he’s released the instrumental piano album, ‘Conflict’,the ‘Cryptozoo’ original feature film soundtrack, andthe jazz fusion suite, ‘Septet’.

On his fifth release for Stones Throw in two years,composer and keyboardist John Carroll Kirby adopts amore electronic sound.

‘Dance Ancestral’ was produced in collaboration with Canadian artist Yu Su and features Laraaji on the leadsingle.

John Carroll Kirby recently toured the UK and Europe,and he will return in August to perform at GillesPeterson’s We Out Here festival.
